SAIC is seeking a Deal Strategy Architect to join SAIC’s Growth Organization. As the Deal Strategist, you will lead the holistic integration of price-to-win, deal intelligence, and competitive strategy for priority capture efforts. Leading early-engagement and shaping strategies needed for growth.

The Deal Strategy Architect is a senior leader responsible for collaborating with Business Developers, Capture Managers, Solution Architects, Pricing and Estimating staff, as a subject matter expert integrating competitive intelligence (CI), position-to-win (PTW) analytics, and strategic pricing to drive winning outcomes in priority capture efforts. This role shapes procurement strategies, aligns technical solutions, pricing, and contractual structures, and maximizes Probability of Win (Pwin) while balancing execution risk and financial objectives.

Explicitly acting as a force multiplier—mentoring teams, innovating methodologies, and embedding best practices throughout the enterprise.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and report on market shifts, regulatory changes, political influences, and macroeconomic factors impacting the business.
  • Identify technological shifts and future trends, translating complex data into actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Conduct competitor, customer, cost, and contract analysis—including pricing behavior, award history, debriefs, and public data—to inform bid decisions.
  • Analyze competitive landscape, including competitor positioning, pricing, messaging, and product offerings
  • Maintain detailed SWOT profiles of competitors and analyze competitor portfolios, financial health, and strategic pivots by the competition both domestically and internationally.
  • Facilitate Black Hat, White Hat, wargaming, and win strategy sessions to surface deal intelligence, customer priorities, discriminators, and simulate competitor responses.
  • Run adversarial simulations and mock evaluations (baseline, optimistic, pessimistic) to quantify evaluation impacts.
  • Research DoD budget cycles to forecast funding utilizing procurement databases for spending trends and contract award patterns.
  • Develop data-driven Position to Win (PTW) recommendations, bid strategies, and competitive positioning for complex, high-value capture efforts based on historical award data and competitor cost structures.
  • Create, enhance, and maintain PTW templates, tools, and document bid/execution strategies and processes; ensure training and consistent application across the organization.
  • Create Design-to-Cost limits to enable solution principles—identifying cost levers, trade-offs, risks, and opportunities without compromising technical integrity.
  • Proactive cost strategies that ensure a transparent walkdown in price v. PTW v. solution assumptions to achieve early alignment.
  • Define and recommend price-to-win, bid strategies, and competitive positioning for complex, high-value capture efforts.
  • Assist in shaping of procurement and win strategies, developing compelling briefings, reusable deal artifacts, and models.
  • Build consensus in multi-team environments, ensuring transparency about strategic approaches. refine value propositions and messaging based on market insights and leverage
  • Assess RFP evaluation methods, contractual structures, and acquisition approaches; identify risks and construct mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate on business case and risk analyses for large and complex bids, including managed services and platform/integration solutions.
  • Advise Capture Managers in workshops and color reviews ensuring our value proposition will displace incumbents or defend current programs.
  • Lead, mentor, and mature deal strategy team members in best practices, advanced methodologies, and technology forward-leaning analytics.
  • Foster a dynamic environment of intellectual curiosity, rigorous analysis, and ingenuity to drive robust strategies for sustainable, executable growth.
  • Champion collaborative solutions, partnering with departments across the enterprise to accelerate capture activities and set strategies in motion and other duties as required.
