Operations Manager, Program / Project Manager
Job Summary
In this role, you will manage direct reports and lead interdisciplinary teams to establish construction methods and support activities. You will oversee the construction process, review plans and specifications for costs and constructability, manage corporate processes and procedures, and lead proposal preparation. Your recommendations for studies, lessons learned, project assessments, and new methods will optimize completion of project construction activities. #LI-SM2
Chief Construction Engineer- Proactively engages with their teams' development through CPM, competency development/assessment and feedback
- Develops and recommends the construction staffing plan for approval by Manager of Construction and prepares employee requisitions.
- Directs construction activities of the assigned GBU construction staff, ensuring compliance with GBU Quality Management System
- Establishes working relationships with GBU Functional teams
- Approves staffing requisitions as delegated by the Manager of Construction.
- Provides consultation, technical guidance and direction to Construction and other support functions
- Manages the successful completion of activities related to the construction of assigned projects
- Assists in development of standard construction method
- Oversees the review of standard plans and specifications for constructability
- Reviews and evaluates new methods and concepts
Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13‑15 years of relevant experience or 17‑19 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills- Owns site services execution end‑to‑end deep knowledge of temporary facilities, utilities, camps, transportation, logistics, waste, catering, security, communications, and site support systems.
- Plans and scales services with the job, aligns services to manpower ramps, shifts, and phase changes so site operations never become a productivity constraint.
- Leads site services teams and vendors; manages subcontractors, service providers, and internal teams; enforces SLAs, safety, and performance standards.
- Controls cost, risk, and reliability; understands service cost drivers, utilization, and failure modes; anticipates issues and intervenes before they impact the field.
- Primary interface for site operations; coordinates with construction, safety, HR, and project leadership to resolve issues quickly and maintain a functional, safe site.
