The position is primarily field-based across Northern Virginia, with occasional reporting to the office in Reston, VA as needed.

Responsibilities

* Manage day-to-day field activities to ensure project milestone dates and overall schedule completion dates are consistently met.

* Create and maintain short-interval, look-ahead project schedules so upcoming work activities are clearly communicated, tracked, and proactively addressed.

* Foster and maintain a strong culture of safety, health, and cleanliness on the jobsite at all times.

* Coordinate and sequence all field work so it is constructed in an orderly, deliberate manner consistent with the standards of care outlined in the contract documents.

* Verify that all work is installed in a high-quality, workmanlike manner, including ensuring that construction is plumb, level, straight, and meets project specifications.

* Obtain all required inspections and ensure that quality aspects of the physical work are thoroughly documented.

* Ensure all aspects of the project comply with contract terms, project specifications, and all applicable legal and community requirements.

* Administer and enforce client-specific programs such as Construction Quality Control (CQC), Safety, and Environmental Stewardship.

* Conduct and/or attend pre-construction meetings, progress meetings, and other project and staff meetings as required.

* Lead or participate in regular meetings with internal staff and external stakeholders, including owners, subcontractors, and other project partners, to coordinate work and resolve issues.

* Meet regularly with client representatives to review project status, proactively identify and resolve problems, and ensure the client remains fully informed about project progress.

* Manage changes in project scope and ensure that the most current contract documents are used in the field at all times to prevent rework and delays.

* Administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and other project agreements to ensure scope, terms, and conditions are clearly understood and consistently met.

* Oversee the punch list and project closeout process to ensure timely and complete turnover of the project.

* Maintain accurate daily paperwork, including timecards, field reports, and schedule updates.

* Provide leadership and direction to field teams and subcontractors to maintain productivity, quality, and adherence to project plans.

* Monitor site work and base work activities to ensure proper execution and coordination with the overall construction schedule.

* Support the successful delivery of ground-up commercial and community-oriented projects from start to finish.

Essential Skills

* Strong ability to manage and coordinate day-to-day field operations on large commercial construction sites.

* Proficiency with RFIs and submittals, including reviewing, processing, and tracking them throughout the project lifecycle.

* Experience creating and managing short-interval and look-ahead schedules for active construction projects.

* Thorough understanding of commercial construction means and methods, including site work, base work, and ground-up building construction.

* Ability to interpret and work from construction documents, specifications, and contract requirements.
