Supporting the Aerospace Community Through Exceptional Member Engagement
AIAA is seeking a Membership Coordinator to support and strengthen the member experience through customer service across our global community.
This is an exciting opportunity for a customer-focused and detail-oriented professional who enjoys building relationships, improving processes, and helping members stay connected to the aerospace industry. Reporting to the Director, Membership, this role plays an important part in delivering a positive member experience through responsive service, accurate reporting, and effective membership engagement initiatives.
What You’ll Do- Provide exceptional customer service by responding to member inquiries via phone, email, and mail
- Process membership joins, renewals, upgrades, and status changes accurately and efficiently
- Coordinate member anniversary and recognition programs
- Generate and track monthly membership Key Indicators and identify membership trends
- Coordinate monthly membership renewal process, including invoice generation and mail house coordination
- Maintain and update member records, including merging duplicate records and processing membership transitions
- Assist with onboarding outreach for Young Professional members and follow-up communications with lapsed members
- Help improve member resources by updating FAQs and developing standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Provide feedback on the member experience across AIAA platforms, events, and digital tools
- Support membership recruitment and retention campaigns in collaboration with internal teams
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment and assist with additional projects as needed
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least 1–2 years of relevant professional work experience, association experience preferred but not necessary
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service and interpersonal abilities
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record management
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal direction
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with Association Management Systems (AMS) preferred
- Familiarity with community software platforms
- Flexibility to support high-volume work periods and occasional travel as needed
