Sr Product Designer Experimentation

The Yahoo Mail Growth & Experimentation team designs and evolves experiences that drive user acquisition, activation and engagement. We run rapid experiments, scale successful solutions and build reusable systems that increase impact over time.

In this role you will be part of a cross‑functional squad, partnering with user research, content, marketing, platform, engineering, product and data teams. Your focus will be on growth and experimentation initiatives across desktop, mobile web, iOS and Android.

• Lead the design strategy across high‑leverage growth surfaces (onboarding flows, engagement loops, lifecycle nudges, habit systems) to drive measurable impact on activation and retention.
• Translate growth strategy into clear experience direction, pressure‑testing solutions with Product, Engineering and Data.
• Use qualitative and quantitative insights to identify opportunities and iterate on experiments, learning quickly to improve core metrics.
• Contribute to the design system by creating and refining growth‑related patterns that support scalable, reusable solutions.
• Mentor other designers and facilitate critiques to resolve ambiguity and align strategic direction.
• Identify and implement AI‑driven efficiencies, replacing repetitive tasks with automated or AI‑assisted prototyping cycles.
• Maintain a solutions‑oriented mindset, proactively suggesting AI‑driven improvements to the team’s creative process and experimentation velocity.

• Expertise across IA, complex flows, motion and visual design, producing cohesive, scalable growth experiences.
• Systems thinker: design growth and experimentation patterns that work across surfaces with clarity and consistency.
• Strong typographic, colour and visual hierarchy skills for polished layouts.
• Commitment to experiment velocity, shipping experiments rapidly and rigorously, then scaling learnings.
• Effective partner with PMs and Data Scientists, using activation rate and experiment lift to inform decisions.
• Comfortable in evolving, AI‑augmented environments, continuously learning and improving velocity.
• High emotional intelligence, contributing to a respectful, inclusive and constructive culture.

• 5+ years designing consumer web or mobile products at scale, with proven growth, onboarding or experimentation impact.
• Portfolio demonstrating user‑centred thinking, polished visual craft and interaction design for complex ecosystems.
• Experience with AI‑powered design tools and generative workflows to accelerate exploration, prototyping and asset generation.
• Track record shipping experiments that drove measurable engagement or DAU impact on growth surfaces.
• Ability to own quality for AI‑assisted work, ensuring craft and usability standards.
• Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools (Figma, Cursor, Claude, etc.) to communicate concepts.
