The Practice Administrator is responsible for providing strategic leadership and related financial success and operational effectiveness by collaborating with physicians, leadership, providers, and operations in developing and maintaining the practices overall business plan, goals, and strategic values.
Strategic Governance & Board RelationsThe PA is the highest ranking non-physician leader. They serve as the liaison between the surgeon owners (the Board) and the staff.
- Board Leadership:
Working with the Board to set agendas, manage shareholder expectations, and establish and implement the Practice’s mission and vision. - Maintain the practice culture that emphasizes collaboration, accountability, and performance with a shared vision for the future.
- Support marketing efforts in the region as required with the board and clinical staff
- Work independently and engage physician and operations leadership in the development and implementation of new policies and procedures as needed
- Evaluate the organizations financial position and issues periodic reports on the organizations, financial stability, liquidity, and growth
- Identify trends or areas of improvement as it relates to physician productivity, and the overall financial health of the practice
- Actively involved in hiring, performance, appraisals, coaching, and corrective action of staff and conjunction with the Operations Manager
- Collaborate with the board and physicians to improve practice operations
- Provide regular reporting to the board on all strategic initiatives and yearly action plans
- Focus on capital structure and diversified revenue streams, including possible ancillary development
- Ensuring the practice stays compliant with all regulatory agencies governing healthcare delivery
- Monitoring legislative changes (like CMS reimbursement) and lobbying for the group's interests at the state or national level (e.g., through AAOS or MGMA).
- Education
:
Bachelor’s degree and possible MBA - Experience
: 5+ years of executive-level management experience, healthcare preferred - Demonstrate knowledge of management, general, accounting, principles, practice operations, and process improvement experience
- Ability to work collaboratively and participate in a team approach
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills
