Summary
Meta's Energy Infrastructure Strategy and Investments team is seeking an experienced energy sourcing professional to lead electricity procurement vendor management for its global data center portfolio. In this role, you will be responsible for commercial energy and clean energy supply to power Meta’s rapidly scaling portfolio of data centers. A good candidate has an interest in helping the team to operate efficiently and effectively and has enthusiasm for identifying gaps and process improvements.
This position will play a pivotal role across the energy teams, coordinating vendor management, developing models to support processes and onboarding, and guiding the internal budget.
Energy Sourcing Manager Responsibilities
Lead energy interconnection and service contract management and procurement-related tasks and reporting, including vendor onboarding, direct debit enrollment, purchase order initiation, and invoice and PO tracking and troubleshootingWork with the team to develop capital expense forecasts, track actuals and communicate variance commentary to stakeholdersLead data center energy OPEX tracking, billing setup and troubleshootingOwn the relationship with internal contracts and procurement partners. Develop and improve systematic solutions to streamline the procurement and contract processesCollaborate with internal partners on professional service budget tracking, forecasting, and reportingMaintain relationships with finance and other key cross‑functional partnersSupport the tracking and provide updates on energy utility billsAssist with the development and maintenance of internal tools and tracking systems (e.g., SharePoint sites, document libraries, internal dashboards)Minimum Qualifications
Experienced with high volume utility bills, payment processes, managing complex purchase orders and MSAs6+ years of experience in energy procurement, energy sourcing, or energy supply strategy within the utility, independent power, or large energy consumer sectorExperience building and managing relationships with a variety of cross‑functional partnersFluent in contracting and procurement languages, principles, and practicesExperienced in data analyticsPreferred Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologiesExperience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)Knowledge of behind‑the‑meter generation, battery storage, or microgrid solutions as components of data center energy supply strategyExperience sourcing energy specifically for data center, hyperscale, or other large‑scale critical infrastructure loadExperience with renewable energy certificate tracking, carbon accounting, or sustainability reporting frameworks relevant to large energy portfoliosDemonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologiesDemonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)Public Compensation
$132,000/year to $188,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
