Project OverviewBechtel is the licensing, engineering, procurement, and construction partner on Terra Power s Natrium team. Selected by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for its Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program, Natrium aims to re-establish U.S. leadership in nuclear energy with DOE cost-share support. Natrium deploys a 345 MWE sodium fast reactor with a molten salt storage output. The plant is designed to be safer, easier and less costly to construct and operate, producing energy competitively with fossil fuels.
The Natrium Demonstration plant will be licensed by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
In this role, you will participate in the analysis, improvement, and implementation of processes and associated engineering procedures and work instructions. This role interfaces with other engineering disciplines, other functional departments, our partners, and the client. #LI-EH1
Major Responsibilities- Coordinates job activities across different Engineering work-fronts to ensure a consistent approach and delivery
- Obtains inputs and technical information from senior engineers across multiple disciplines for use in completing tasks
- Prepares and reviews project Engineering procedures to ensure alignment with Bechtel corporate and NS&E GBU procedures, client procedures, contract requirements, and applicable codes and standards
- Develops and presents training on procedures, miscellaneous policies and instructions for Engineering personnel
- Identifies, prepares and reports project Engineering quality metrics and associated trends
- Presents quality reports to Bechtel Management and customer personnel
- Participates in project quality surveillances and audits
- Coordinates Closed Loop Corrective Action (CLCA) program initiatives with project Engineering personnel
- Represents Engineering at the project Condition Report Review Committee (CRRC) meetings
- Promotes Condition Reporting and Lessons Learned programs, as available in Devon Way (or similar) application
- Monitors timely closure of Engineering condition reports and associated actions
- Issues Engineering quality bulletins
- Communicates quality issues to the Engineering team in the form of positive feedback and lessons learned
- Coordinates with client representatives, as required
- Lead small task groups, as required
Requires bachelor’s degree and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 application suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Current presentation skills, using PowerPoint and Power BI tools
- Experience with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as NQA-1
- Preferred experience:
commercial nuclear power plant or DOE nuclear facility
