Bechtel is the licensing, engineering, procurement, and construction partner on Terra Power's Natrium team. Selected by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for its Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program, Natrium is participating in a DOE initiative to re-establish U.S. leadership in nuclear energy that provides matching funding to industry to design and build an operational advanced reactor. Terra Power will deploy its 345 MWe sodium fast reactor (SFR), called Natrium, featuring an advanced, cost-competitive reactor design that is safer, simpler, easier, and less costly to construct, operate, and to provide energy competitive with fossil fuels.

It also features an innovative molten salt energy storage system designed to complement solar and wind power by evening out production when sun is not shining or wind is not blowing. With the reactor and energy storage output combined, the plant can produce more than 500 MWe of power.

The candidate will be responsible for executing, monitoring and reporting interferences for all of Engineering and reporting to the PE/PEM. When not performing interference responsibilities, you will be in the Smart Plant 3D model designing and preparation of drawings/documents for General Arrangements, Equipment Locations and piping isometrics drawings. This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project.

Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.

• Responsible for executing, monitoring and reporting interferences for all of Engineering
• Arranging & coordinating 3D model reviews for areas as required per the project schedule or as directed by the PE/PEM.
• S3D modeling as required to support generation of General Arrangements, HVAC orthographic drawings or piping isometrics.
• Coordinate 3D model activities, interference reconciliation within the discipline and with other physical disciplines.
• Ensures that engineering designs performed by the discipline team are coordinated with the overall team and are consistent with project technical requirements and scope.

• AA/AS or Certificate in Engineering/CAD with 7-8 years of experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.

• Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
• Experience using Smart Plant Interference Manager
• Hands-on experience using a 3D piping design platform and isometric extraction (S3D preferred)
• Knowledge & application of ASME B31.1 and/or B31.3 codes
