Essential functions of the position:- The Geologist is responsible for organizing, analyzing, and interpreting analytical data.
- Plan and conduct investigations concerning hazard identification.
- Conduct groundwater and surface water sampling activities.
- Develop project field procedures.
- Supervise sample preparation, collection, quality assurance, and delivery to the lab.
- Provide technical support for Remedial Investigation soil sampling.
- Collaborate on reporting results and detailing action plans based on field studies.
- Make recommendations for necessary remedial actions.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s or master's degree in Geological Sciences.
- 5 or more years' experience as a geologist.
- 5 or more years of experience in contaminated site characterization and clean-up.
- Experience in Geographic Information System Software, hydrogeologic modeling, and data processing software.
- Knowledge of and experience with regulatory compliance and agency coordination required.
- Experience collaborating with other subject matter experts in a team setting.
- Microsoft Office Suite experience is needed.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER training required.
