Responsibilities

SME Task Lead – Unified Communications

  • Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing the organization’s telecommunications infrastructure
  • Installs, configures, maintains, supports, and optimizes all telephone systems and services, voicemail and PBX communication systems, and video conferencing environments
  • Analyzes and resolves telecommunications circuit issues in a timely and accurate fashion, and supports user needs where required
  • Manages and administers entire telecommunications infrastructure and its associated software, including PBXs, call management systems, voice mail, interactive voice response, and video conferencing systems
  • Develops long‑range telecommunications development plans in accordance with stated business strategy
  • Designs and oversees telecommunications projects with a goal to improving or expanding the current infrastructure
  • Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and training plans for telecommunication systems administration and appropriate use
  • Develops telecommunications procurement plans by reviewing previous history, market conditions, and specifications or technical data packages
  • Proposes telecommunications contract recommendations based on current usage, future needs, and customer requirements
  • Formulates and develops communications requirment and design standards
  • Performs complex studies to determine networking capacities and reliability, and make recommendations to augment and/or enhance existing communications networks
  • Provides technical problem diagnoses and resolution support for all associated subsystems, including line monitoring, modem loop‑back tests, LAN/WAN performance monitoring and terminal failure determination
  • Provides hardware and software installation and configuration support
  • Procures and manages a variety of telecommunications supplies and services
  • Receives, organizes, and maintains telecommunications contract documentation
  • Manages telecommunications contract procurements and renewals
  • Works with end‐users to establish service level agreements (SLAs) based on user requirements
  • Assesses need for any system reconfigurations, makes recommendations, and executes them as required
  • Conducts research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of telecommunications equipment procurement and development efforts
  • Interacts and negotiates with vendors, outsource rs, and contractors to secure communications products and services in a timely and professional manner
  • Administers all contracts for telecommunications equipment and services
  • Administers add, move, and change requests from end‑users as well as new line installations as required
  • Monitors and identifies capacity and performance issues for telecommunications traffic to ensure continued, uninterrupted operation of telecommunications systems
  • Generates telecommunications usage and inventory reports as required
  • Conducts testing and development of disaster recovery plans to detect faults, minimize malfunctions, and backup systems
Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience
  • 4 - 9 years experience
