We are seeking a Licensed Senior Civil/Structural Engineer with 5+ years of experience within the utility industry, working directly for a utility or consulting company, performing design engineering and design reviews. The candidate must have a strong educational background in design of steel structures, concrete structures, geotechnical engineering, and foundations. Experience reviewing substation structure design, rigid bus design, foundation design, oil spill containment design, retaining walls, masonry control shelters, and firewalls is required.

This position will primarily perform design reviews of the aforementioned civil/structural components to support the development of bid and construction packages for substation projects. The senior engineer will lead projects, conduct design reviews, and develop junior staff members, while conducting site visits to client substation facilities and traveling for client meetings and industry events.

Candidate must comply with quality control and safe work practices and maintain compliance with project scope, schedule and budget expectations. This position will be a senior member of a design team comprised of engineers, designers, and drafting technicians.

Qualifications

• PE License Required in PA, OH, WV, MD, NJ or the ability to obtain licensure in these states within 3‑12 months.
• SE licensure is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MATHCAD software, required.
• Experience with RISA 3‑D, STAAD.Pro, FAD, SAG
  10, and LPILE software, required.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Micro Station required.
• Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
• Team player with ability to communicate with clients and staff.

Work Location: MA, MI, IL. If remote, our preference is for the candidate to reside in either Eastern or Central time zone.
