Success in this role requires exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work products. The selected candidate will work as part of an interdisciplinary team of government and contractor personnel supporting facility characterization and technical assessments. Work is performed in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment within a government facility.
Roles and Responsibilities As part of a facility characterization team, the successful candidate will:
* Integrate all-source intelligence, facility expertise, engineering principles, and industry best practices to characterize the function, mission, and physical configuration of WMD-related facilities, including facility layouts, structures, mission systems, support systems, 3D models, and potential vulnerabilities.
* Utilize state-of-the-art modeling and simulation tools to analyze complex electric power systems.
* Provide engineering expertise and technical judgment throughout the characterization process to support accurate intelligence assessments.
* Develop technical reports, briefings, and other written products describing complex electrical systems, infrastructure dependencies, and operational capabilities for both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Analyze electrical infrastructure capabilities, vulnerabilities, and trends to support customer requirements.
* Brief senior officials and decision-makers on engineering assessments, findings, and analytical conclusions.
* Communicate effectively with personnel across a wide range of technical backgrounds and organizational levels. Required Skills, Education, and Experience
* Candidate must possess an active TS/SCI clearance or a Top Secret clearance with a current SSBI and be eligible to obtain a TS/SCI with polygraph.
* U.S. citizenship is required.
* Demonstrated expertise in applying advanced engineering principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and 8+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience. A doctoral degree in a related technical discipline may be substituted for some experience requirements.
* Experience planning, engineering, and designing electric power systems, with particular emphasis on substations and power distribution systems.
* Experience reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and design documentation in both digital and hard-copy formats.
* Knowledge of applicable electrical engineering codes, standards, and industry practices.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare and deliver technical briefings to senior officials and decision-makers.
Preferred Qualifications
* Working knowledge of mechanical systems, life-safety systems, and associated controls commonly found in commercial, government, and industrial facilities.
* Experience specifying, evaluating, and procuring major electrical power equipment.
* Experience planning, engineering, and designing emergency power systems, including generators, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, and backup power architectures.
* Experience with Smart Grid technologies, energy management systems, and modern power monitoring solutions.
* Experience designing substation protection and control systems.
* Experience with modeling and simulation of electrical distribution systems, industrial control systems, and SCADA environments.
* Experience with Autodesk Revit, Autodesk AutoCAD, and/or Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
