The Jacobs Virginia Transportation team is searching for a motivated Drainage Design Engineer who can utilize their technical and design skills to deliver roadway‑related infrastructure projects. This opportunity is your chance to work on multi‑disciplined transportation projects that focus on highway, roadway, and interchange projects.

In this role you will provide drainage design for roadway and highway projects throughout Virginia. Typical work assignments may include storm drainage analysis and design, cross drainage design, erosion and sediment control, temporary drainage, quantity and cost estimates, preparation of technical reports and memorandum, and preparation of construction plans, estimates, and specifications as required.

When you join us, you’ll work in a team environment with other project engineers on the detailed drainage design of urban and rural transportation projects. You’ll conduct storm drainage analysis and design per the requirements of the project and various transportation public agencies such as VDOT.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• Previous experience working on transportation and drainage design projects within the state of Virginia
• Ability to communicate effectively and coordinate all drainage design phases of a project with other team disciplines
• Previous experience utilizing Bentley Open Roads Drainage and Hydraulic Modeling software
• Previous experience creating technical documentation, reports, and/or memorandum

• Master’s degree in civil engineering
• Registration as Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within 1 year
• Previous experience with PS&E, schematic and alternative delivery (i.e. Design‑Build and PPP) transportation projects is a plus
• Experience in utilizing Bentley Geopak Drainage, Storm
  
  CAD, Civil Storm, and other modeling software is a plus

The base salary range for this position is $95,300.00 to $. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
