A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi‑disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross‑functional partners across the company.
You’re equally comfortable explaining your team’s analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
Safety, ergonomics, and compliance play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and usability of new product designs. While operational Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) ensures that workers don’t get hurt and factories don’t leak, Product Safety EHS ensures that the physical item shipped to a customer is legally permitted to exist, travel, and be disposed of in a given market.
As an EHS New Product Introduction (NPI) Product Safety Technical Program Manager, you will proactively review product designs to identify potential safety hazards or compliance concerns, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to implement effective mitigation measures. The primary goal is to minimize risk and enhance the level of product safety, and to ensure compliance with relevant worldwide safety standards, mitigating risks by design rather than retrofit at a later time.
