Peraton is seeking a talented self‑starting Surveillance Radar Advisor with experience in radar systems to support the modernization and sustainment of the National Airspace System (NAS) and FAA surveillance systems. In this role, you will analyze, advise, and report key performance information in order to implement upgrades to the current ATC system that are critical to safe and efficient air travel.
This position is 100% remote with about 75% travel.
- Be capable of providing subject matter expertise on radar system integration, operations, and lifecycle sustainment.
- Support FAA surveillance programs with performance analysis, troubleshooting, and modernization planning.
- Observe, capture, and report technical data pertinent to the installation and modernization of FAA radar systems.
- Collaborate with FAA stakeholders, contractors, and engineering teams to align with mission objectives.
- Develop and submit concise technical reports and status reports throughout each phase of the project.
- Provide immediate notification to higher Peraton authority of significant concerns (Risk, Issues, Opportunity) along with their potential impacts to the schedule.
- Oversee site and vendor technicians, maintain situational awareness of past and upcoming equipment installation schedules, and ensure compliance with FAA mandates.
- Upon completion of installation and acceptance tests, continue to monitor updated systems and communicate with site technicians and vendors to ensure optimization of all ATC systems through calibrations, alignments, and additional testing required.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- 12 years with BS/BA; 10 years with MS/MA; 16 years with no degree.
- Proven strong self‑starter traits.
- Significant hands‑on technical work such as maintenance on any moderately complex system such as radars, radios or networks.
- Capability to implement conflict resolution and deconfliction steps.
- Capability for independent operation under agile conditions with limited oversight and/or managerial control.
- Critical thinking, following processes and procedures.
- 75% travel (expected travel is 1 month on and 2 weeks remote rotation).
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to assess large amounts of pertinent data and produce detailed technical reports under time limitations.
- Clear and effective communication to all parties.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with radar operations, ATC systems & operations, and/or Integrated Air and Missile Defense systems.
- Expert use of Microsoft products and business applications.
$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
