Job Summary:

In this role, you will plan, develop, and review mechanical design work, produce drawings and documentation, and prepare design estimates for a project. You will coordinate with clients, facilitate technical discussions, and review and approve drawings, calculations, and bid summaries. You will solve complex technical issues and ensure mechanical designs comply with all regulations and standards.

# Major Responsibilities:

+ Leads or administers work of Mechanical designers and drafters for a business line technology to include the preparation of layouts, study drawings, detailed 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models and construction drawings

+ Develops designs for complete and complex Mechanical engineering systems such as earthwork, drainage, road design, foundation, and steel detailing with minimum supervision from which detailed scale models and/or construction drawings are completed

+ Assists in constructing detailed scale models

+ Prepares or assists with the preparation of assigned material requisitions and bid evaluations

+ Monitors and checks work for compliance with approved Mechanical design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation and construction economy. Ensures Mechanical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards

+ Participates in constructability reviews

+ Prepares design and drafting procedures to standardize design effort

+ Coordinates or makes jobsite visits, as required, to resolve problems and interpret drawings and documents

+ Reviews Mechanical design scope changes, as required, for project management

+ Endorses or prepares reports of work progress, as required, for project and discipline use

Education and Experience Requirements:

+ Degree or coursework in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field

+ Minimum Ten (10) years' industry experience with AutoCAD and BIM coordination platforms

+ Exposure to building systems design in the following sectors:
Semiconductor Facilities;
Life-Sciences / Pharma Facilities; and Datacenters

+ Maintained BIM standards, families, and templates to ensure consistency and quality

+ Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit (MEP modeling, worksets, families)

+ Solid understanding of HVAC fundamentals (airflow, duct sizing, equipment layout)

+ Having experience in Plumbing and Fire-Protection systems is considered an additional benefit

+ Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven project environments

Experience with multidisciplinary coordination and BIM workflows

+ Strong communication skills for working with engineers and project teams

+ High attention to detail and commitment to quality deliverables
