Job Summary

As Electrical Technical Engineering Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising engineers and helping to execute assignments concerned with specialized or unique engineering requirements. This position has technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, and coordinating these assignments. This involves exploration of the subject area, definition of scope, and may involve the development of novel concepts, approaches, and solutions. You will be interfacing and coordinating with other engineering disciplines and the client in the development of the design.

"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership."

Major Responsibilities
  • Manage discipline work process execution and assure technical adequacy in accordance with company, contract, and industry codes and standard.
  • Be accountable for error‑free deliverables.
  • Approve technical reports and studies and design documentation, calculations using engineering software, and specifications for electrical equipment.
  • Build an inclusive team environment where all are able and expected to contribute to the maximum of their capabilities. Provide leadership and mentoring to team members.
  • Create meaningful goals working with the team and ensure goals are met.
  • Serve as an advisor for the analysis and solution of engineering problems and interpret drawings, verbal instructions, and applicable codes relevant to project requirements and the ability to articulate explanations.
  • Coach, train and mentor electrical staff; conduct annual reviews and interview potential new staff.
  • Ensure electrical standards are followed; conduct quality assurance for electrical work and assign electrical staff assignments.
  • Stays up to date with new software, automation work processes, technical developments, and their implementation.
  • Understands specialist group work process and dependencies between functions.
  • Participates in Technical Working Groups (TWG) or specialty workshops and participates/leads in national level meetings of a professional society.
  • Proactively contributes to Bechtel Technical Information Program (BTIP) and presents technical papers.
  • Serves as a member of a codes and standards subcommittee and/or specialty task committee.
  • Participates in regulatory forums or special technology workshops.
  • Prepares position papers or white papers on technical issues under study.
  • Prepares and submits Technical Grant.
  • Interprets new or special governmental regulations, engineering codes, standards, criteria, and performance data.
  • Assists in the development and coordination of special technical educational and training programs for Bechtel personnel and/or clients.
  • Manages customer relations on issues related to specialty area.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college with 10-13 years of progressive related experience and a minimum of 4 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
Basic Qualifications
  • Must be authorized to live and work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the USA (Electrical Engineering).
  • Experience in nuclear plant design (power plant or DOE facility).
  • U.S. Professional Engineering License in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ASME‑NQA‑1, MIL‑Q‑9858A, or ISO‑9000.
  • Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards.
  • Hands‑on Microsoft office programs and other computer programs.
