* Kimley-Horn is looking for an Analyst to join our Reston, VA office focusing on Aviation Planning. This is not a remote position.
** Responsibilities*
* + Support the development of aviation planning and strategy studies for state DOTs and airport clients, inlcuding:
+ State aviation system plans
+ Aviation economic impact analyses
+ Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) planning initiatives
+ Airport business plans, master plans, and Airport Layout Plans (ALPs)
+ Conduct research, data collection, and analysis to inform planning recommendations and policy decisions
+ Prepare clear, concise, and well-structured technical reports, memoranda, and presentation materials
+ Support project managers in organizing tasks, tracking deliverables, and ensuring timely completion of assignments
+ Coordinate with internal team members and external stakeholders, including state aviation agencies, airport sponsors, and industry partners
+ Demonstrate strong follow-through by proactively closing the loop on assigned tasks and communicating status updates
+ Contribute to a collaborative team environment while taking ownership of individual work products
+ Apply GIS and other analytical tools (as applicable) to support planning and visualization efforts
** Qualifications*
* + A Planning Degree (Bachelors or Masters) from an accredited program in these majors:
+ City and Regional Planning
+ Urban Planning
+ Geography/GIS
+ Aviation
+ Transportation Planning
+ _Or Other Related Major_
+ 0-2+ years of experience in aviation planning, transportation planning, or a related field
+ Strong writing skills with the ability to develop clear, organized, and professional technical documents (writing sample required with application)
+ Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, follow through on assignments, and meet deadlines
+ Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accountability
+ Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
+ Detail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
+ Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
+
Experience with GIS (ArcGIS or similar) is a plus, but not required
+ Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, client-focused environment
