Project Overview:
The project is a 1.3 GW simple-cycle power generation facility located in Millersport, Ohio, being constructed adjacent to a hyperscale data center campus. The facility includes multiple power generation technologies consisting of Solar Titan 130 gas turbines, Siemens SGT
800 gas turbines, reciprocating engines, battery energy storage systems (BESS), substations, and associated balance of plant infrastructure.
The scope includes major civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, underground utility, control systems, and commissioning works required to support phased energization and turnover of the facility. Construction will be executed through a combination of direct hire and subcontracted labor supported by modularization, pre‑assembly, offsite warehousing, and advanced work packaging methodologies.
Job Summary:Provides technical leadership and coordination for all mechanical construction scopes including gas turbines, rotating & static equipment installation, tanks, fin‑fan coolers, and auxiliary mechanical systems. Responsible for construction work packaging, field engineering coordination, quantity tracking, technical issue resolution, inspection coordination, turnover support, and integration between construction, engineering, procurement, QA/QC, vendors, and commissioning teams.
Major Responsibilities:Specialization & Expertise
- Provides knowledge and expertise in a particular discipline, subject matter, or specialized process required for construction.
- Provides technical consultation support to projects.
- Prepares construction drawings and sketches.
- Leads preparation of construction drawings and schedules and the design of temporary construction facilities and ensures preparation of "as built" drawings and other job plans.
- Initiates requisitions for field purchases.
- Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.
- Leads the verification of commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.
- Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
- Proactively considers continuous learning or shows interest to pursue appropriate learning activities.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10–13 years of relevant experience or 14–17 years of relevant work experience.
Skills:
- Large EPC industrial or power project field engineering experience.
- Strong understanding of mechanical construction methods and sequencing.
- Experience with piping systems, rotating equipment, and static equipment installation.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical drawings, specifications, and P&’s.
- Experience managing RFIs, redlines, as-builts, and technical queries.
- Understanding of welding, NDE, pressure testing, and turnover requirements.
- Experience coordinating inspections, testing, and turnover documentation.
- Strong interface coordination with construction, engineering, QA/QC, and vendors.
- Familiarity with AWP, CWPs, IWPs, and workface planning preferred.
- Strong communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
