Position Summary

Bechtel is recruiting a Poland AP1000 Engineering Procurement Lead to provide oversight and guidance of responsible engineers across all disciplines for procurement of equipment and commodities for the AP1000 facilities. This part‑time telework position reports to the Project Engineer for procurement and involves training the engineering team, coordinating with procurement and engineering management, and ensuring quality procurement packages. At least three days of in‑person attendance per week at the assigned office or project is required.

Overview

Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company are partnering to deliver the first nuclear power reactors in Poland. Bechtel will be the EPC contractor responsible for design and construction of the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant for the Polish entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ).

Responsibilities
  • Lead the full lifecycle of procurement activities including planning, specification development, material requisitioning, bid evaluation, award, and tracking, ensuring all activities align with Bechtel Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), BSAPs and project‑specific requirements.
  • Establish and maintain a high‑performance engineering‑procurement interface by developing processes, clarifying handoffs, resolving technical issues and ensuring timely, high‑quality deliverables that support project procurement schedules.
  • Oversee creation and verification of engineering documentation required for procurement such as technical specifications, datasheets, bills of material (BOM), source evaluation criteria and quality requirements, ensuring packages meet nuclear‑grade expectations.
  • Create, maintain and actively manage procurement‑related engineering schedules, identify risks, evaluate recovery options and drive corrective actions in collaboration with project controls and discipline leads.
  • Coordinate with Engineering Management, Project Management, Procurement, Construction, Startup, ES&H and the customer to resolve technical issues, clarify requirements and maintain alignment with EPC execution priorities.
  • Perform and manage work in accordance with relevant EDPs, design guides and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).
  • Develop and track SCAS schedules for approval.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a diverse group of customers.
Required Qualifications
  • BS in engineering or an associated scientific discipline from an accredited college or university with 8‑10 years of progressive and relevant work experience.
  • Prior work experience in procurement of equipment and commodities in a nuclear environment or other industries with high quality standards such as defense or space.
  • Past experience leading a team of professional staff.
  • Authorized to live and work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to complete a pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience working in a nuclear safety work culture.
  • Prior experience working on new nuclear power plants and/or AP1000 facilities.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary range: $123,400 – $178,500 annually (based on market data; final salary determined by education, experience and qualifications).
  • Part‑time telework with at least three days of on‑site attendance per week.
