Project OverviewThe project is a 1.3 GW simple-cycle power generation facility located in Millersport, Ohio, being constructed adjacent to a hyperscale data center campus. The facility includes multiple power generation technologies consisting of Solar Titan 130 gas turbines, Siemens SGT
800 gas turbines, reciprocating engines, battery energy storage systems (BESS), substations, and associated balance of plant infrastructure.
The scope includes major civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, underground utility, control systems, and commissioning works required to support phased energization and turnover of the facility. Construction will be executed through a combination of direct hire and subcontracted labor supported by modularization, pre-assembly, offsite warehousing, and advanced work packaging methodologies.
Job SummarySupports field execution of underground mechanical piping systems, above ground piping installation, prefabricated spool installation, welding activities, pressure testing, and reinstatement works. Responsible for technical coordination, quantity tracking, inspection support, redline management, and ensuring piping systems are installed in accordance with project drawings, specifications, and turnover requirements. #LI-RM1
Major ResponsibilitiesSpecialization & Expertise
- Provides knowledge and expertise in a particular discipline, subject matter, or specialized process required for construction (e.g., tunnel boring, site de-watering, glove boxes, special coatings systems, HVAC systems, Fire Detection and Suppression, reactor tender gallery coordinator, etc.)
- Provides technical consultation support to projects.
Work Planning & Packaging
- Prepares construction drawings and sketches.
- Leads preparation of construction drawings and schedules and the design of temporary construction facilities and ensures preparation of "as built" drawings and other job plans.
Material Management
- Initiates requisitions for field purchases.
- Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.
Quantities
- Leads the verification of commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.
Safety / Quality Control
- Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
Technical
- Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities
STR / Subcontract Coordinator
- Reviews and approves inspection test plans
- Required bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
- Experience with industrial piping construction projects
- Strong understanding of underground and above ground piping systems
- Experience with piping fabrication, installation, and field routing
- Knowledge of welding, NDE, hydrotesting, and reinstatement activities
- Ability to read and interpret piping isometrics and P&IDs
- Experience with quantity tracking and field reporting
- Familiarity with mechanical QA/QC inspections and testing requirements
- Strong coordination and field problem-solving skills
- Experience managing RFIs, redlines, and as-built documentation
- Industrial or power project experience preferred
