We’re looking for an Environmental Engineer or Geologist to continue their career at Jacobs and contribute to environmental site characterization and remediation projects for government and global private‑sector clients, making our world better.
Location & Work ArrangementBased out of Reston, VA, you’ll work with other geologists, engineers, scientists, subject‑matter experts, and project managers on exciting projects. This is a hybrid position that offers flexibility to work from the office or from home as needed to meet project delivery goals while maintaining work‑life balance.
ResponsibilitiesDesigning, performing, or overseeing soil, soil vapor, groundwater, and surface water investigations, building teams of colleagues and subcontractors, coordinating and managing field‑work logistics, analyzing and interpreting data, preparing technical reports, and participating in meetings with clients and regulators. Safety is a priority, and you will contribute to operational excellence while maintaining the highest standards of Health, Safety and Environmental Compliance.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, or a closely related field
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience delivering environmental site characterization and remediation projects, including fieldwork methodology and data assessment for various environmental media
- Experience working on project sites and overseeing subcontractors
- Experience leading teams toward a common goal
- 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification or the ability to attain it
- United States citizenship
- Ability to work in the Reston, VA area
- Master’s degree in engineering, geology, or a closely related field
- Professional registration (e.g., Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist) or the intent to obtain and maintain professional certification
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with coworkers, contractors, and clients
- Strong attention to detail when conducting field work and evaluating data

SalaryBase salary range: $79,900.00 to $. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
