Bechtel's Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) Business Unit is designing, building and commissioning a semiconductor fab in Clay, NY. The Area Project Engineer for sub-fab laterals manages and coordinates the activities of a cross-functional team overseeing the design of the sub-fab laterals, covering structural design, process, piping and line valves, electrical, and instrumentation and controls. The design is executed by a third‑party architect/engineer, and the Area Project Engineer oversees that work in coordination with the A/E design manager and the lead disciplines, demonstrating leadership and technical credibility across a multi‑disciplinary team.

The role also coordinates with Bechtel off‑site manufacturing, procurement, construction, and construction and startup so that constructability, modularization, and startup requirements are built into the design rather than discovered after issue.
