Position: Senior Mitigation and Resilience Analyst - Remote (US)

Overview

Responsibilities
  • Lead small teams in conducting policy research and data analysis for hazard mitigation and long-term recovery planning
  • Scope and manage grants in compliance with federal policies and best practices
  • Assist project managers with grant application intake and quality assurance reviews
  • Develop written products and tools to support client project implementation
  • Facilitate client presentations and support deliverable reviews, budget tracking, and project timelines
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Public and/or Environmental Justice or Policy, Economics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in research, data analysis, and product development related to hazard mitigation and disaster resilience
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 25% for work needs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Planning, Public and/or Environmental Policy, Economics, or a related field (may supplement 2 years of required experience)
  • Experience with natural hazard resilience concepts, including risk assessments and benefit-cost analysis
  • Grant writing and management experience for complex projects
  • Familiarity with FEMA Hazard Mitigation Assistance programs
  • Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
