Overview
VTG is seeking a Technical Targeter to support our client’s challenging operational requirements at multiple locations in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Successful candidates will support cutting‑edge intelligence operations using specialized, state‑of‑the‑art tools and technologies while working in an integrated government‑contractor team.
ResponsibilitiesTechnical research using customer tools; technical analysis; report writing; operational concept development; stakeholder engagement; presentation of reports to all levels of customer management. This work is increasingly complex and highly dynamic, providing opportunity to address high‑profile intelligence issues and apply the full range of analytic tradecraft to sophisticated worldwide missions. Targeting Officers must think critically and communicate highly complex technical information accurately and clearly, while working collaboratively in a team environment.
Candidates should be comfortable with drafting and disseminating written reports and requests for information.
- Bachelor’s degree
- 7–12 years of applicable experience (Level
3) - 12–20 years of applicable experience (Level
4) - 20+ years of applicable experience (Level
5) - Cable writing experience
- TS/SCI with polygraph clearance
- Ability to identify and assess the right entities, vulnerabilities, and technology trends to enable new collection operations
- Ability to confidently deliver clear and concise briefings
- Strong analytic, research, and investigative skills combined with operational sense, personal initiative, and some technical expertise
- Master’s degree
- Experience in intelligence operations, analysis, or support to field operations
- Experience identifying targeting leads through exploitation of all‑source databases and specialized tools
- Experience using customer databases to monitor field traffic and communicate with field offices
- Formal training or certification as a Targeter
- Overseas experience supporting collection operations and information sharing
