Contract Specialists & Contracts Administrators – Government Contracting Talent Profile

Core Contract Administration Expertise

These professionals are responsible for managing and administering contracts in compliance with federal regulations, company policies, and contractual obligations. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Administering government contracts and agreements while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, including FAR, DFARS, and other federal procurement requirements
  • Managing day-to-day contract actions in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
  • Reviewing solicitations, contract terms, requirements, and delivery schedules to identify risks, gaps, and compliance concerns
  • Providing contractual guidance to program teams, leadership, capture teams, and business development organizations
  • Supporting proposal development, competitive and sole-source pursuits, and pricing activities
  • Ensuring compliance with Truthful Cost or Pricing Requirements and government contracting regulations
  • Negotiating and managing customer changes, modifications, amendments, and contract updates
  • Advising stakeholders on contractual rights, obligations, risks, and opportunities
  • Maintaining contract documentation, historical data, reporting, and audit-ready records
  • Managing multiple priorities while ensuring organizational commitments and customer requirements are met

Typical Background & Qualifications

The Contract Specialists and Contracts Administrators we place typically bring:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant government contracting experience, or advanced degree with equivalent experience
  • Professional experience supporting government customers as a prime contractor or subcontractor
  • Experience administering contracts of varying size, scope, complexity, and contract type
  • Strong knowledge of federal acquisition regulations, including:
    • Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
    • Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
    • Government procurement processes and compliance requirements
  • Experience interpreting contract requirements and translating obligations into actionable guidance for program teams
  • Ability to independently manage competing priorities in rapidly changing environments
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to identify and mitigate business risk
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence internal teams and external customers
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Preferred Experience & Specialized Skills

    • Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs)

Security Clearance Requirements
