As an Event Sales/Planning Manager, this hybrid role serves as the primary point of contact for clients after the group sales process, ensuring every detail is thoughtfully planned and flawlessly executed. You’ll partner closely with Meeting Planners, clients, and hotel departments to transform a signed agreement into an exceptional event experience. From coordinating room blocks and banquet details to overseeing billing and serving as the on‑site contact during programs, you’ll play a critical role in delivering the high level of service and hospitality our guests have come to expect from Hyatt.
This is an ideal opportunity for a hospitality professional early in their career who enjoys building relationships, managing multiple priorities, solving challenges with confidence, and creating memorable experiences from start to finish. The role also includes sales and planning responsibility for the small events market segment, focusing on meetings with fewer than 30 people and no sleeping rooms.
- Serve as the primary liaison between clients and hotel operations following the sales process, with a heavy focus on rooms‑only programs
- Coordinate all event details, including food and beverage, audiovisual requirements, room setup, room blocks, billing instructions, and special requests
- Conduct planning meetings and maintain consistent communication with clients throughout the planning process
- Partner with Banquets, Culinary, Convention Services, Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, and other hotel departments to ensure seamless event execution
- Be present during programs to ensure events run smoothly and respond promptly to client needs
- Prepare proposals, banquet event orders, presentations, reports, and other planning documentation
- Maintain accurate information using Hyatt's event planning and sales technology systems
- Participate in Event Services and Commercial Services meetings while contributing to the overall success of the hotel's meetings and events business
The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, and passionate about creating exceptional guest experiences. You’ll be successful if you have:
- Experience in hotel event planning, convention services, catering, or hospitality operations, preferably in a full‑service hotel
- Outstanding organizational and project management skills
- Exceptional communication and relationship‑building abilities
- Ability to manage multiple events while maintaining close attention to detail
- A calm, solutions‑focused approach in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong collaboration skills and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service
- Experience with Hyatt systems and Envision is preferred
- A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast‑paced environment
- Refined verbal and written communication skills
- Must be proficient in general computer knowledge
- Candidates should be extremely detail‑oriented and organized
- Prefer two years of hotel experience or completion of an Event Management trainee program
