A growing organization in the construction industry is seeking a Field Recruiter to help support its workforce needs across skilled trades, craft, construction, and field-based positions. This is a hands-on recruiting opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, engaging with candidates in the community, and working closely with operational leaders.

Job Description

The Field Recruiter will be responsible for attracting, identifying, and moving qualified candidates through the hiring process. This individual will combine traditional recruiting methods with face-to-face community and field outreach to build strong talent pipelines and help meet ongoing staffing demands.

The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, comfortable working independently, and motivated by measurable hiring results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage recruiting activities from candidate sourcing and initial screening through offer and onboarding.
  • Develop candidate pipelines using job boards, referrals, networking, community outreach, and industry contacts.
  • Conduct candidate screens and interviews to evaluate skills, experience, availability, and overall suitability.
  • Work closely with hiring managers and field leadership to understand staffing priorities and adjust recruiting efforts accordingly.
  • Participate in career fairs, trade-school programs, job fairs, community events, and other local talent-acquisition activities.
  • Help coordinate and execute hiring events designed to attract qualified construction and skilled-trade candidates.
  • Establish relationships with workforce development organizations, vocational programs, trade schools, and industry partners.
  • Maintain regular communication with candidates and guide them through each stage of the hiring process.
  • Keep applicant tracking systems, candidate records, pipelines, and recruiting reports current and accurate.
  • Provide hiring leaders with updates on candidate activity, recruiting progress, and open-position pipelines.
  • Coordinate with HR and operations to support a smooth transition from accepted offer through onboarding.
  • Assist with early retention efforts and help identify potential obstacles affecting new-hire success.
  • Monitor recruiting performance and contribute ideas that improve hiring speed, candidate quality, and overall recruiting effectiveness.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of recruiting experience, preferably within construction, skilled trades, industrial, staffing, or another high-volume recruiting environment.
  • Experience recruiting for construction, craft, skilled-trade, field, or other hard-to-fill positions.
  • Knowledge of full-cycle recruiting practices.
  • Comfortable managing multiple open positions and candidate pipelines simultaneously.
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and HR/recruiting software.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with excellent follow-through and attention to detail.
  • Self-directed, motivated, and comfortable taking ownership of recruiting goals.
  • Ability to build relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and community partners.
  • Results-oriented approach with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Willingness to travel locally for recruiting activities and events.
  • Spanish/English bilingual skills preferred.
