Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Engineer with 8+ years of hands‑on experience managing enterprise‑scale databases in on‑premises and cloud (AWS) environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Oracle (19c, RAC, RDS), strong experience with AWS Database Migration Services (DMS), and growing or proven experience with Postgre

SQL. This role is responsible for database architecture, migrations, performance tuning, security, disaster recovery, and operational support across production, UAT, and development environments.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, create, patch, upgrade, and maintain Oracle 19c databases (RAC, RDS, and standalone) across AWS Cloud, UNIX, and Windows platforms.
  • Design and execute AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) tasks to migrate on‑premises Oracle databases to AWS RDS and support data replication between Oracle and SQL Server.
  • Install, configure, administer, and troubleshoot databases and associated cloud controls in on‑premises and AWS environments.
  • Migrate Oracle databases and cloud controls to new servers, including installation, patching, configuration, monitoring, and backup setup.
  • Configure Amazon SNS events and email notifications for database monitoring and alerts.
  • Upgrade AWS DMS replication engines and proactively manage CA certificate renewals.
  • Provide end‑to‑end database support for Production, UAT, and Development environments.
  • Administer and support Oracle Fusion Middleware and Oracle 11g Discoverer.
  • Perform query tuning and performance optimization for complex SQL workloads.
  • Generate database reports and provide performance recommendations to development teams.
  • Plan and coordinate database version upgrades and platform migrations.
  • Create, maintain, and execute Disaster Recovery (DR) plans, SOPs, and annual contingency tests with detailed documentation.
  • Ensure database security and compliance through auditing, DBProtect scan reviews, and remediation of findings.
  • Manage Service Now incidents, requests, change tickets, and tasks in accordance with SLA requirements.
  • Represent the DBA team in project meetings, change control boards (CCB), incident calls (ICM), and vendor engagements.
  • Develop user manuals and procedural documentation for Help Desk and support teams.
  • Assist with on‑premises Oracle to Postgre

    SQL migrations to cloud platforms.
  • Administer, maintain, and optimize Postgre

    SQL databases, including creation and modification of database objects using DDL.
Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience as a Database Engineer / DBA in enterprise environments.
  • Strong expertise in Oracle Database Administration (19c, RAC, RDS).
  • Hands‑on experience with AWS services, especially RDS, DMS, SNS, and cloud monitoring.
  • Proven experience migrating databases from on‑premises to AWS Cloud.
  • Strong SQL skills with experience in query tuning and performance optimization.
  • Experience with Postgre

    SQL administration and optimization.
  • Experience with backup, recovery, DR planning, and high availability architectures.
  • Familiarity with ITSM tools such as Service Now.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in federal or highly regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of Oracle OEM / cloud controls.
  • Experience supporting multi‑database platforms (Oracle, Postgre

    SQL, SQL Server).
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field (preferred)
