The Production Engineering (PE/SRE/Dev Ops) team is the power behind engineering goodness for all above.

By writing, designing and implementing software and infrastructure to drive velocity, operability, reliability and performance, the PE team ensures continuous quality and compliance on production systems. We also build and maintain tools and platforms for engineer productivity and are at the forefront of tech initiatives of infrastructure modernization with cloud platforms and experimenting with new technologies.

The Yahoo's Media Platform team is seeking Dev Ops / Production Engineers (SREs) who are problem solvers at heart, with a strong ability to dig into code and own the reliability domain. We are looking for Dev Ops, Production Engineers or ML Ops Engineers interested in combining both who are problem solvers at heart, with solid ability to dig into code and own the reliability domain. As a member of the PE team, you will work with your developer partners and implement operability improvements, security, infrastructure, automation, CI/CD, monitoring and other system requirements.

You will also work in development of tools, automation platforms and intelligent monitoring.

• Manage production environment at vast scale and their associated infrastructure and tools
• Support the operability roadmap to improve the availability, performance, scalability and efficiency of the services by implementing monitoring, automation, redundancy, capacity and business continuity planning
• Work on challenging system and network problems to improve system performance and reliability
• Implement and maintain monitoring to provide complete transparency to application and system state, history, trends and insights
• Participation in on-call rotation - drive incident resolution, live troubleshooting and impact mitigation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to adopt new technologies, including Agentic AI

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent degree
• 1-3 years experience (academic, internship, or professional) in Dev Ops/ PE / SRE, Software Development or similar
• 1-3 Years of experience in at least one of the web technologies like Apache, Jetty, Tomcat.
• Hands‑on experience or academic exposure to containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), cloud platforms such as AWS, or machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, Tensor Flow).
• Experience using modern development and AI tools such as Vertex AI, Claude Code, VS studio, Git Hub Copilot, or equivalent platforms.
• Intermediate level of coding expertise in one or more language including Java, Nodejs, Python, or Go
• Experience with building CI/CD pipelines, git
• Deep understanding of UNIX/Linux system internals and tools for troubleshooting application stack dumps and networking

• Experience in designing, managing large scale infrastructure in AWS EKS, AWS Open search, multi zone, multi region deployments.
• ExPOSU working with IaC (ex. Terraform),
• Experience working with Git Hub Actions
• Experience in ATS is a plus
• Experience with system reliability tools like Open telemetry, Prometheus, Splunk, ELK
• Experience with large data processing and storage solutions like Storm, Spark, Hadoop Map/Reduce, Pig, Oozie, REDIS, Dynamo
