The Sterling Connect:
Direct Integration Engineer position is responsible for migrating and configuring IBM Sterling Connect:
Direct system from the mainframe environment to AWS cloud (Linux).
- Diagnosing and resolving issues related to file transfers, connectivity, and process failures
- Understanding data format differences, character set conversions and potential challenges during migration
- Write and troubleshoot unix shell scripts
- Create, modify, and troubleshoot Connect:
Direct processes for file transfers and job execution - Communicate and convey complex, technical information in an understandable manner
- Manage competing priorities flexibly and address each in an effective and timely manner in a fast‑paced working environment
- Five or more years of experience in installing, configuring, and administering IBM Sterling
- Direct
Experience with Connect:
Direct, including setting up secure connections, user permissions, and system parameters - Understanding initialization parameters, user authorization (userfile.cfg, sysacl.cfg), and how they differ from mainframe to Linux
- Experience installing, configuring, and managing Secure Plus parameters, including certificate management, key stores, and security policies
- Expertise in defining and maintaining network maps, node records, and other configuration parameters
- Must have and be able to maintain DoD Top Secret Clearance
- Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines Ex:
Jenkins, Git Lab etc. - Ability to list and describe the basic elements of Terraform Infrastructure as Code (IaC), including Providers, Resources, and Data Sources
- Experience with AWS VPCs, Subnets & Availability Zones, understanding Regions vs. Availability Zones, and working with Compute Instances
