We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Project Scheduler to join our dynamic project management team. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in using Microsoft Project (MS Project) to develop, maintain, and optimize project schedules for complex Initiatives. This role involves managing multiple project plans simultaneously, generating critical path reports efficiently and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The position may require handling sensitive information, so candidates with U.S. Secret Security Clearance are preferred.
This is a full‑time role focused on delivering high‑quality scheduling support to drive project success. Project is expected to last 3-5 months.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using MS Project, incorporating tasks, dependencies, resources, and timelines.
- Quickly generate critical path reports to identify potential delays, risks, and mitigation strategies, enabling proactive decision‑making.
- Manage multiple project plans concurrently, tracking progress, updating statuses, and resolving scheduling conflicts across portfolios.
- Collaborate with project managers, stakeholders, and cross‑functional teams to ensure schedules align with project objectives and resource availability.
- Perform schedule analysis, including what‑if scenarios, baseline comparisons, and variance reporting.
- Integrate MS Project with other tools (e.g., Excel, SharePoint) for enhanced reporting and data visualization.
- Ensure compliance with project management standards and security protocols, particularly for classified projects.
- Cutover Management
- Cutover plan in MS project experience
- Experience in Mock 2 and GL activities
- Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- At least 10 years of hands‑on experience using Microsoft Project for scheduling in a professional environment
- Proven ability to create critical path reports rapidly and accurately.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple project plans simultaneously in fast paced settings.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, including resource allocation, risk assessment, and earned value management.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, with advanced skills in Excel for data analysis.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team‑oriented environments.
- Active US. Secret Security Clearance (required for certain projects involving sensitive information)
- Relevant certifications to demonstrate expertise in Microsoft Project and project scheduling, such as:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI), which often incorporates MS Project usage.
- PMI Scheduling Professional (PMISP), focusing on advanced scheduling techniques applicable to MS Project.
- Microsoft Project Management Professional Certificate (offered via Coursera or similar platforms).
- MPUG (Microsoft Project User Group) Certification or Practitioner Course.
- Belt-level certifications in Microsoft Project (e.g., White Belt, Orange Belt, Blue Belt) from accredited training providers.
- Other project management certifications like Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or equivalent, with emphasis on MS Project tools.
- Experience in industries requiring security clearances, such as defense, government, or aerospace.
