Dev Sec Ops Engineer (Survivor Portal) Overview
DecisionPoint seeks a Dev Sec Ops Engineer (Survivor Portal) to support the sustainment, monitoring, and automation of a secure, cloud-based application serving survivors and family members of fallen service members. The Dev Sec Ops Engineer will provide Tier 3 technical support and implement infrastructure automation, monitoring, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes to ensure secure and reliable delivery across multiple cloud environments.
The engineer will collaborate with development, cybersecurity, and operations teams to maintain high system availability, integrate automated testing, and ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity and RMF requirements.
This position is fully remote.
Responsibilities- Tier 3 operational and troubleshooting support for production, test, and development environments.
- Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines, integrating automated builds, testing, and security scans into deployment workflows.
- Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform or Cloud Formation for secure and scalable provisioning within AWS Gov Cloud IL4/IL5 environments.
- Manage containerized deployments and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring consistent configuration and performance across environments.
- Monitor system performance, application health, and security posture using tools such as AWS Cloud Watch, ELK Stack, and Prometheus.
- Support incident response and root cause analysis, ensuring timely resolution of operational issues.
- Apply patches, updates, and vulnerability mitigations in alignment with DoD cybersecurity and RMF standards.
- Collaborate with software developers to integrate Dev Sec Ops automation into Agile sprint cycles.
- Ensure compliance with DISA STIGs, DoD IA controls, and Zero Trust security principles.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and configuration baselines for system sustainment.
- Support data backup and recovery processes, and validate operational continuity plans.
- Must hold an active Secret clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Dev Sec Ops , system administration, or cloud infrastructure engineering.
- Experience supporting secure, cloud-based applications in federal or defense environments.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, monitor, and optimize CI/CD and containerized systems.
- Proficiency in AWS Gov Cloud, Linux, and containerized deployments.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git Lab CI, or AWS Code Pipeline).
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Cloud Formation, or Ansible).
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and automated build pipelines.
- Understanding of DoD cybersecurity requirements, RMF, and DISA STIG implementation.
- Experience with system monitoring, log aggregation, and performance tuning.
- AWS Certified Dev Ops Engineer - Professional or Associate.
- CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent DoD 8570 certification.
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Docker Certified Associate (DCA).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in cloud and containerized environments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical teams.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver within Agile timelines.
- Focused on automation, reliability, and continuous improvement.
