Immediate opportunity to join our customer, a major Federal Healthcare Insurance provider, in the Reston VA area. We are seeking a seasoned Scrum Master (8+ years), who is certified (SAFe and CSM) and has experience within a software development/AWS Cloud environment, providing and facilitating Sprint estimation and Sprint planning meetings to identify product backlog items to be worked in a sprint and to estimate level of effort of development activities.

At this time, we are only seeking candidates that reside in the Reston, VA/Wash DC/Maryland area, or touching states for a possible onsite interview, and 1-2 onsite meetings per quarter in Reston VA.

• Lead multiple cross functional teams, or Agile Release Train (ART), guiding them on how to use Agile, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Scrum and Lean (e.g., Kanban) values/practices through servant leadership. Create and nurture a culture of continuous learning, growth mindset and agile maturity in teams/ART through agile practices, agile mindset, metrics, SAFe guidelines, remove blockers and partner with leadership.
• Lead daily standup meetings, track progress by keeping the sprint backlog up-to-date, and help to remove impediments.
• Support the team/ART's efforts to continuously improve communications and relationships with other teams.
• Conduct end-of-sprint review meetings where sprint products are demonstrated to stakeholders.
• Conduct sprint grooming, provide progress reports including but not limited to meta scrum, burn-up/burn-down charts, and User Story Point updates.
• Update Product Backlog Items to include new or revised requirements and backlog items.
• Foster collaboration and communication between team members on technical issues, process improvements, and in addressing and escalating project risks and issues.

• 8+ years of Scrum Master experience. Lean, Agile methodologies including Kanban. Proven success leading multiple Agile teams to agile maturity and improved customer outcomes.
• Two certifications are required: SAFe and CSM.
• Agile Release Train (ART) experience/knowledge is required.
• Must have SME knowledge of the SDLC process. Proven track record of supporting multiple software development project tracks (Java-focused experience is a big plus).
• Proven track record of supporting an AWS environment (AWS migration project experience is a plus).
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
