Senior DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Dev Ops Engineer (f/m/d) in the areas of Business Technology Platform - Foundation within the Technology & Engineering unit of the Sovereign Cloud Delivery & Operations team in the Platform Engineering board area.

In this role, you will join the Sovereign Cloud Platform engineering team. You will build, harden, and operate the SAP Sovereign Cloud environments used as reference by the regional Operations teams. You will work closely with SAP product teams, technical product managers, developers, security experts, and regional operators on deployment automation, product operations/deployments, deployment documentation, and support for SAP Sovereign Cloud regional operations teams.

• University degree in computer science, engineering or similar
• Professional experience in Cloud Delivery related fields and technologies
• Experience with technologies like Container Orchestration (Kubernetes), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible), Monitoring and Logging (Prometheus, Elasticsearch, Kibana or Grafana)
• Good knowledge of public cloud providers (AWS, GCP and Azure) and their product offerings
• Good knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash or Python
• Good knowledge of Cloud infrastructure, architecture and design
• Experience with Security like Hashi Corp Vault
• Fundamental SAP product knowledge – Public Cloud like BTP, Success Factors, and Private Cloud Products
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform and CI/CD pipelines e.g. Jenkins, Circle
  
  CI, Drone
  
  CI or ArgoCD as well as knowledge of Git (preferred) or SVN
• Prior team or work stream lead experience
• Experience in Cloud Native technologies such as Kubernetes (K8s), Docker and microservices is a big plus
• Decision‑making and can‑do attitude
• Methodological and conceptual skills paired with analytical thinking
• Proven ability to work in cross‑functional teams
• Persistence, self‑motivation and willingness to work under pressure
• Fluency in written and spoken English

• 5+ years of professional experience in Cloud Delivery related fields and technologies
• 2+ years of Automation experience

The targeted annual combined range for this position is USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc.
