About the Role
This senior SRE role supports one or more U.S. Federal Government contracts, requiring U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a TS/SCI with CI Poly security clearance. The role focuses on building a clean, scalable, reliable, and automated services framework for Workday Analytics in federal deployments.
What You Will Do- Build and automate CI/CD pipelines and automation for the Prism engineering and SRE teams.
- Enhance monitoring, alerting, and tracing for internal and production services.
- Set technical direction with the SRE team while ensuring requirements are met.
- Enhance, secure, and maintain environments for Prism Analytics in federal deployments.
- Act as primary contact with multiple internal teams.
- Participate in on‑call duties and production events to maintain analytics reliability.
- Design, develop, and implement solutions for the Kubernetes platform, including infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools.
- Build and maintain core platform components with high availability, scalability, and security.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployments using Terraform and Argo CD.
- Provide support and troubleshooting for platform-related issues, collaborating with development teams.
- Implement and maintain security best practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for platform components and processes.
- Participate actively in knowledge sharing within the team.
- Collaborate with engineers, development teams, and stakeholders across multiple locations and time zones.
- Stay current with the latest technologies and trends in platform engineering.
This role may require a TS/SCI with CI Poly security clearance and may include on‑site work at client locations in the DC, MD, and VA (DMV) area.
Basic Qualifications- U.S. citizenship.
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience with on‑premises or cloud‑based infrastructure and strong systems architecture, networking, and security knowledge.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes concepts, architecture, and administration.
- Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency in infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform.
- Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines with tools like Argo CD.
- 3+ years of experience with AWS cloud services in production.
- Proficiency in programming (Go or Python). Experience with ORM, big data technologies (Apache Spark, Hadoop, HDFS, Storm), data pipeline development, and data lake architecture.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Nice to have: experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana), security auditing and compliance frameworks, Docker, Kubernetes.
Primary Location (USA.VA.Reston) Base Pay Range: $151,500
USD–$227,300
USD.
Additional US Locations Base Pay Range: $137,100
USD–$243,600
USD.
Eligibility for Workday Bonus Plan, role‑specific commission/bonus, and annual stock grants.
