Systems Engineer, Cloud Computing
What You’ll Do
- Engineering Collaboration
:
Partner directly with VKS Engineers to troubleshoot, architect, and refine the core platform based on real-world edge cases. - Customer Advocacy
:
Interface with customers to dissect highly complex, distributed systems issues and articulate them back to the product team as actionable roadmaps. - Innovative Problem Solving
:
Build tools and patterns that prevent issues, develop "Day 2" operations solutions that push the boundaries of cloud-native scalability. - Evangelism & Industry Voice
:
Act as a technical influencer by writing deep-dive blog posts, white papers, and technical articles that showcase our solutions and contribute to the broader CNCF community. - Mentorship
:
Lead field teams by educating them on K8s best practices and ensuring core innovation is effectively adopted by users.
- Current CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) or CKAD (Certified Kubernetes Application Developer). CKS is a major plus.
- Bachelor’s degree plus 12+ years or Master’s degree plus 10+ years related experience preferred.
- Deep experience with Kubernetes internals (compute, networking, storage) and managing production clusters at scale.
- Infrastructure as Code:
Mastery of Terraform, Helm, and Git Ops workflows (ArgoCD or Flux). - Observability:
Proficiency in Prometheus, Grafana, and Jaeger/Open Telemetry. - Scripting/Coding:
Strong proficiency in BASH or Python for building custom solutions and automations.

You will have a seat at the table with the engineers building the next generation of vSphere Kubernetes Services. This role offers the unique opportunity to stay technically "hands-on-keyboard" while building a significant personal and professional brand within the global Kubernetes community.
Compensation and BenefitsThe annual base salary range for this position is $106,900 - $190,000. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and equity in accordance with plans.
