Introduction

At IBM Software, we transform client challenges into solutions. Building the world’s leading AI-powered, cloud-native products that shape the future of business and society. Our legacy of innovation creates endless opportunities for IBMers to learn, grow, and make an impact on a global scale. Working in Software means joining a team fueled by curiosity and collaboration. You’ll work with diverse technologies, partners, and industries to design, develop, and deliver solutions that power digital transformation.

With a culture that values innovation, growth, and continuous learning, IBM Software places you at the heart of IBM’s product and technology landscape. Here, you’ll have the tools and opportunities to advance your career while creating software that changes the world.

Your role and responsibilities

We are seeking a Customer Success Engineer to join our team supporting U.S. Federal Government clients across IBM’s Data and AI portfolio. In this role, you will design and deliver viable client solutions by leveraging IBM’s data products and AI products, removing technical inhibitors to opportunity progression, and creating credible technical proof points through demonstrations, workshops, POTs/POCs, solution design, MVPs, and deployment roadmaps.

You will work directly with clients and internal teams to drive adoption and expansion by activating entitlements, identifying sponsors, leading use‑case workshops, and establishing measurable business outcomes. The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth, a customer‑first mindset, and the ability to translate complex Federal requirements into deployable implementations—while also supporting customer briefings and contributing to solicitation responses (RFIs/RFPs) with clear, compelling technical input that differentiates IBM’s capabilities.

Required

technical and professional expertise

Deep knowledge and hands‑on experience with either IBM’s Data portfolio (including Data Integration, Data Intelligence, and Database products) or IBM’s AI portfolio (including watsonx.ai, prompt engineering, model governance, MLOps, Cognos Analytics, Planning Analytics, and Business Process Automation). Proven experience designing viable client solutions by leveraging current product capabilities and creating technical proof points through accelerators such as demonstrations, POTs, POCs, workshops, solution design, and MVPs.

Ability to remove technical inhibitors to sales opportunities while driving adoption and expansion through strong product capability expertise. Experience developing and delivering technical accelerators that demonstrate measurable value, and partnering with client sponsors to define deployment roadmaps, milestones, and outcomes that ensure solutions are successfully deployed and adopted. Strong customer‑facing skills with the ability to understand client challenges and serve as a trusted guide for modernization and adoption of IBM technology portfolios.

Preferred

technical and professional experience
  • Active Security Clearance:
Possession of a current security clearance
  • Project Management

    Experience:

Experience in managing complex projects, including coordinating resources, timelines, and deliverables in U.S. Federal Government environments with stringent security, compliance, and operational requirements.
  • Knowledge of Defense Regulations and Standards:
Understanding of relevant U.S. Federal regulations, standards, and best practices for software and data solutions, including FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST frameworks (e.g., NIST 800‑53 / RMF), to ensure solutions meet compliance and risk management requirements
