OverviewThe role of Analytic Methodologist is to support the development of analytic strategies to resolve key intelligence questions of mission-driven requirements within an Object-Based Intelligence (OBI) program focused on predictive analytics, structured methodologies, and semantic integration across the defense intelligence mission set.
Eligibility: U.S. Citizen with an active U.S. Government TS/SCI security clearance with an in‑scope CI poly. Applicants without the required clearance are not eligible.
Responsibilities- Deconstruct complex and ambiguous intelligence questions to recommend structured analytic methodologies tailored to mission requirements.
- Evaluate and adapt existing analytic models, algorithms, and frameworks to improve objectivity, completeness, and predictive value of intelligence production.
- Design, develop, and maintain domain‑specific ontologies to enable semantic representation of data inputs and integration of data sources.
- Create and maintain knowledge graphs leveraging domain‑specific ontologies for advanced data querying, visualization, and integration of intelligence functions via OBI standards.
- Apply semantic web standards (RDF, OWL, SPARQL) to knowledge model entities and relationships.
- Set up processes for ontology version control, change management, stakeholder and governance review to ensure compliance with IC and DoD policies.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance semantic data retrieval and reasoning, optimizing data queries via protocols such as Graph
QL, SPARQL, SHACL, and SQL. - Validate and refine exploratory efforts to automate ontologies and components, ensuring semantic accuracy and interoperability.
- Assess effectiveness of automation initiatives using qualitative and quantitative metrics.
- Support capability development by contributing, editing, and storing ontologies and knowledge models in government‑controlled source repositories.
- 12+ years of experience and an advanced degree.
- Experience with structured analytic methods and designing repeatable analytic processes.
- Familiarity with semantic technologies and ontology development tools such as Protégé.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of advanced analytics, data storage, and data science architectures.
- Experience with Python.
- Ability to synthesize abstract concepts into actionable intelligence products.
- Experience applying predictive analytics to strategic intelligence problems across multiple domains.
- Development and execution of strategies to analyze key issues and recommend solutions.
- Leadership of multidisciplinary data science projects.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualization.
- Strong problem‑solving skills for manipulating large structured and unstructured data sets.
- Ability to learn and master new software, technologies, and techniques.
- Experience with at least two of the following:
Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Large Language Models, Apache Spark, Hadoop, R, C++, SQL, Tableau.
Base pay for the Washington, DC metropolitan area is $ – $ annually. Salary ranges for other states are adjusted based on geographic cost of labor.
