As a Systems Engineer, your typical day will include:
- Maintaining operating systems (primarily Ubuntu, Fedora, CentOS versions of Linux)
- Application support, integration, design, and assistance as needed
- Linux OS patching, file and server backups, maintaining group policies
- Booting and troubleshooting server issues, managing server installs, updates, and permissions
- Design, implementation, and operational aspects of multiple systems, operating environments, and software
- Scheduling, planning, and performing system upgrades
Required:
- VMWare administration experience (AWS/cloud knowledge/expertise a plus)
- Exposure to scripting Linux functions (Perl, BASH)
- Knowledge of shell scripting, creating cron jobs, analyzing log files, managing user accounts and groups
Education Requirement: BA/BS or better.
Experience Requirement: 10+ years of professional experience; two additional years of equivalent technical work experience in lieu of a degree.
Citizenship & Clearance: A candidate must be a US Citizen and hold an active/current TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
