Description
QVine, an SAIC company is seeking an experienced Dev Ops Team Lead to join our team. This role combines hands‑on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, overseeing project development while contributing to the development and maintenance of cloud‑based applications and/or services. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable writing code, architecting infrastructure, and guiding a team toward delivering reliable, scalable solutions.
This position is located in Reston, VA and requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph to be considered.
Key Responsibilities- Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Dev Ops engineers and developers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability. - Project Management:
Plan, coordinate, and drive development and infrastructure projects from inception through delivery, ensuring timely execution and alignment with business goals. - Web Application Development:
Contribute to and oversee the design, development, and deployment of web applications using modern frameworks and best practices. - Cloud Infrastructure Management:
Architect, deploy, and maintain cloud environments across AWS and Azure, ensuring high availability, security, and cost efficiency. - Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
Design and implement infrastructure automation using Terraform and Packer, promoting reproducible, version‑controlled infrastructure deployments. - CI/CD Pipeline Development:
Build and maintain robust continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines to streamline code deployment and reduce release cycles. - Security & Compliance:
Collaborate with cybersecurity team to embed best practices into the Dev Ops lifecycle, including secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and compliance automation.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
- Bachelors and 14 years or more experience;
Masters and 12 years or more experience;
PhD or JD and 9 years or more experience. - 8+ years of experience in Dev Ops, site reliability engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of hands‑on development experience building and deploying web applications (e.g., using JavaScript/Type Script, Python, Go, Java, or similar languages).
- 3+ years of experience working with AWS and Azure cloud platforms, including core services (compute, networking, storage, identity management).
- Strong proficiency with Terraform and Packer for infrastructure provisioning and image management.
- 2+ years of experience in a leadership or team lead role, including managing projects, setting priorities, and mentoring team members.
- Experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, Git Lab CI/CD, Azure Dev Ops, or similar.
- Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS, or AKS).
- Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git.
