* The Microsoft System Administrator serves as the senior technical authority for Microsoft infrastructure and enterprise collaboration services supporting the SEC ISS contract. This role ensures secure, resilient, and scalable operations across Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 services, and Azure resources in alignment with federal security and compliance requirements. The position leads architecture, advanced configuration, and complex integration efforts across Microsoft platforms and enterprise infrastructure.
It also provides technical leadership for Microsoft Teams conferencing and large-scale streaming support for high-visibility SEC events, including commission meetings and town halls.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Microsoft Platform Administration
- Serve as the senior technical lead for enterprise Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy administration.
- Design and implement advanced configurations, upgrades, and hardening for Microsoft server and collaboration environments.
- Administer Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams, to ensure high availability and performance.
- Ensure secure, reliable, and high-performing Microsoft platform operations across the enterprise.
Azure Cloud and Identity Services
- Design, deploy, and manage Azure resources, including virtual machines, storage, and networking services.
- Administer Azure Active Directory (Microsoft Entra ) and hybrid identity services.
- Lead integration of Azure cloud services with enterprise systems and on-premises dependencies.
- Optimize platform performance, scalability, and operational resilience.
Teams Collaboration and Enterprise Streaming
- Architect and support enterprise Microsoft Teams collaboration, conferencing, and streaming capabilities.
- Lead planning and delivery support for Teams Live Events and enterprise broadcast solutions.
- Oversee live event streaming operations to ensure audio/video quality, scalability, and rapid issue resolution.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to sustain reliable enterprise meeting and broadcast service delivery.
Automation, Monitoring, and Service Reliability
- Develop and maintain Power Shell automation for provisioning, configuration management, and repeatable operations.
- Implement proactive monitoring and tuning across Windows, M365, and Azure environments to reduce incidents and improve service quality.
- Troubleshoot complex Microsoft platform and streaming issues to restore services and prevent recurrence.
- Drive continuous service improvement across Microsoft infrastructure and collaboration platforms.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Citizenship/Work Authorization:
Must meet contract requirements.
Clearance:
Ability to obtain and maintain SEC Public Trust (or higher if required).
Education:
Bachelors in a relevant field.
Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in system administration roles focused on Microsoft technologies.
- Extensive experience managing enterprise Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams).
- Strong experience supporting Azure services and resources, including Azure Active Directory (Entra ), virtual machines, storage, and networking.
- Experience architecting and supporting Microsoft Teams video conferencing, Teams Live Events, and enterprise streaming solutions.
Technical
Skills:
- Windows Server administration, Active Directory, Group Policy, and enterprise Microsoft platform operations.
- Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams) in enterprise environments.
- Azure services administration, including identity, compute, storage, and network resource management.
- Power Shell scripting for automation, advanced configuration, and operational efficiency.
- Monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization across Microsoft infrastructure and collaboration platforms.
