Role Overview
We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to support our team responsible for building, managing, maintaining, deploying, and securing mission‑critical services to make the Internet work.
What You Will Do- Participate in architecture, provisioning, and planning of our IBM hardware ecosystem.
- Installation, configuration, and maintenance of physical hosts.
- Provisioning of PowerVM hosts.
- Configuration and certification of AIX images.
- Coordination with other technical staff.
- Performance of operational support functions.
- Documentation of processes.
- Providing critical technical leadership.
Our ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills, excellent troubleshooting instincts, curiosity about new technologies, and a strong investment in maintaining secure and available services.
Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 8+ years of experience deploying and operating mission‑critical systems.
- Excellent understanding of IBM POWER systems.
- Excellent understanding of HMC/NIM/VIOS setup and ongoing maintenance.
- Strong automation experience.
- Solid troubleshooting skills and the curiosity to drive to an answer.
- Understanding of physical servers and the demands of maintaining them.
- Fluency in the AIX operating system.
- Fluency in the Linux operating system.
- Strong understanding of and production experience with PowerVC.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with networking protocols and systems.
