Senior Data Engineer
The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for orchestrating, deploying, maintaining and scaling cloud or on-premise infrastructure targeting big data and platform data management (relational and No
SQL, distributed and converged) with emphasis on reliability, automation and performance. This role will focus on developing solutions and helping transform the company's platforms deliver data-driven, meaningful insights and value to company as well as upgrading Cloudera from CDH to CDP.
5-8 Years Experience
- Demonstrated experience within the healthcare insurance industry. Knowledge of claims systems a plus, specifically FEP claims
- Experienced with Cloudera upgrade from CDH to CDH
- Experience with scripting and automation
- Strongly demonstrated knowledge of DB2
- Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) knowledge and experience with web services is strongly preferred, but not required
- Demonstrated knowledge and best practices of testing environments and processes
- Strong testing skills
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Familiar with structured programming techniques
- Must be able to perform assigned tasks with minimum supervision
- Strong documentation skills
- Experience working in an Agile environment is a plus
Software:
- DB2
- Hadoop Cluster Administration
- Utilized Apache tools such Kafka, Pig, SQL/No
SQL, Ranger, Sentry, Sparks, Hive, Flume, HBase, Hue, Ambari, and Cloudera Manager. - Created Big Data pipelines (ETL) from on-premise to Data Factories, Data Lakes, and Cloud Storage.
- Utilized AWS cloud providers for additional resources
- Implement Big Data solutions using Hadoop distributions from Cloudera CDH /CDP
- Dev Ops (CI/CD Pipeline)
- Applies and implements best practices for data auditing, scalability, reliability and application performance.
