About the Role
We are looking for an Expert Dev Ops Engineer (f/m/d) within the Platform Engineering Team of the Sovereign Cloud Delivery & Operations unit. This hybrid role is located in Reston, VA, requiring on‑site presence three days a week.
Responsibilities- Independently develop, maintain, and improve the continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline using cloud services and automation tools, including Terraform for resource provisioning.
- Write high‑quality code in Python, Go, and Bash to advance the platform.
- Design and orchestrate solutions on Azure, AWS, and GCP, integrating best‑practice cloud practices and principles.
- Implement advanced cloud security measures to ensure data integrity and safety.
- Align infrastructure design with SAP’s broader objectives and identify opportunities for enhancement.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering learning and innovation.
- Stay informed on industry trends and embed best practices into the tech stack and processes.
- University degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience as a Dev Ops Engineer or comparable software engineering role.
- Expert proficiency with Git, Terraform, Kubernetes, and other infrastructure automation toolsets.
- Deep experience with cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and their offerings.
- Significant experience in network, server, and application monitoring.
- Proven ability to lead and improve production systems.
- Exceptional problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of scalable computing systems.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to explain protocols and processes to team and management.
- Expertise in scripting languages Python and Bash.
- Robust knowledge of cloud security protocols and best practices.
- History of setting up, managing, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines.

CompensationThe combined annual salary range for this position is 176,300–374,200 USD, inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target. Actual offer will depend on education, skills, experience, scope of role, location and other relevant factors.
