Lead Systems Engineer

Responsibilities- Represent the engineering team in customer meetings.
- Plan quarterly Agile Development Planning commitments.
- Drive technology roadmaps and work with the Ana Vation Program Manager to accelerate customer priorities.
- Mentor senior, mid‑level, and junior engineers.
- Plan and estimate staffing, software licensing, and hosting capacity for roadmap projects.
- Supervise 5–7 direct reports, including performance reviews, engineering career planning, technical interviews, Agile Delivery (Jira) prioritization, and timesheet approvals.
- Lead a team of AWS cloud engineers, systems integration engineers, software engineers, system administrators, database administrators, data scientists, and information system security officers working on modernization of Elastic, RHEL, WSUS, and cross‑domain integration.
- Clearance: SCI eligible, willing to obtain polygraph (Desired: Active SCI with polygraph).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related technical field (Desired: Master’s degree).
- Certifications: Current DoD 8570 IAT II and CSSP Infrastructure Support certifications (CompTIA CySA+ preferred or equivalent such as Security+ and Cloud+) within 30 days of contract start. (Desired: Active CompTIA CySA+ or equivalent and AWS or Linux certifications).
- Location: Full‑time on‑site in Reston, VA.
- Experience: 8–12 years of relevant technical experience, including at least 4 years leading AWS Cloud development modernization, monitoring, and support; at least 4 years leading Linux development engineering and production delivery; at least 4 years leading Agile Development engineering programs for Government program customers; at least 4 years working in classified Government environments; strong understanding of modern architectures (cloud, full stack, microservices, containers, scripting, big data integration);
experience provisioning, configuring, and managing development, test, and production hosting environments; expertise in Java, Python, PHP, JavaScript, BASH, or Power Shell; experience with requirements traceability, technical architecture documentation, secure configuration of technology stacks and COTS/GOTS software; experience with Government Assessment and Authorization (A&A) following RMF; excellent communication skills.
