Senior Systems Administrator

Responsibilities

• Support the National Programs Intelligence Systems & Application Operating Unit.
• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers, virtual servers, and application software upgrades.
• Perform Operations and Maintenance tasks, maintain operational baselines, and support application O&M activities.
• Monitor and optimize system performance, including CPU, memory, disk usage, and response times.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving system and database issues.

• BA/BS degree with 5+ years of relevant experience; or Masters degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Proven experience in system administration, specifically with Linux, including RHEL and Ubuntu, and UNIX in classified environments.
• Some Windows server administration experience would be good to have.
• Hands‑on experience with Oracle Database installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Experience managing both virtual and physical servers.
• Experience performing system monitoring.
• Experience with backup management.
• Experience implementing performance optimizations.
• Currently valid DoD 8570 certification such as Security+ CE, CASP, CISSP, or similar security certification.

Demonstrates expertise in Linux system administration, including RHEL and Ubuntu, with a focus on performance optimization and troubleshooting in classified environments. Proficient in managing both virtual and physical servers, along with Oracle Database maintenance and backup management.
