- Reston, VA
Seeking a senior Systems Engineer to support two secure cloud-based applications and their infrastructure. The role involves working with a multidisciplinary team including developers, cybersecurity engineers, DBAs, and system architects. Candidates should have strong hands-on systems engineering experience.
Key Responsibilities- Design and integrate cloud systems and services
- Support firewall and network infrastructure
- Configure, patch, and maintain Linux systems
- Partner with security engineers to remediate vulnerabilities
- Identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies
- Participate in an on-call rotation after one year on the team
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
- 11-16 years of relevant systems engineering experience
- Strong Linux command-line administration
- Experience with Bash and Python scripting
- Hands-on scripting experience
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience per program requirements)
- AWS cloud experience
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)
- Configuration management tools (Cloud Formation, Puppet, Groovy)
- Networking and firewall troubleshooting
- Web Application Firewall (WAF) administration
- Cloud/non-cloud network integration
- AIDE and configuration monitoring tools
- Experience supporting COTS tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager, Nexus, and Jenkins
- Core hours: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
, with flexible start/end times - On-call duty phone rotation after one year; occasional on-site response to system issues may be required.
