Senior Data Engineer

Location: Reston, VA (Onsite 3 Days Per Week)

Tier4 Group isseeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to drive the design, development, and optimization of enterprise-scale data solutions. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in modern cloud data environments and enjoys building robust data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and enabling advanced analytics across the organization.

You’ll play a key role in transforming raw data into trusted, business-ready assets while partnering with stakeholders across technology and business teams.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines across multiple data sources.
• Develop cloud-based data solutions using Azure data technologies.
• Implement data cleansing, transformation, validation, and enrichment processes.
• Establish and automate data quality monitoring and governance standards.
• Build dimensional models, fact tables, and analytics-ready datasets.
• Support enterprise data cataloging, lineage, and metadata management initiatives.
• Monitor and improve data pipeline performance, reliability, and observability.
• Collaborate closely with business leaders, analysts, and technical teams to deliver high-impact data products.
• Participate in production support and on-call responsibilities as needed.

What We’re Looking For

Required Experience

• 5+ years of hands‑on Data Engineering experience supporting production data environments.
• 5+ years designing and maintaining enterprise data pipelines and integrations.
• Strong experience with ETL/ELT development, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts.
• Advanced SQL skills and strong Python development experience.
• Experience performing data analysis, profiling, and data quality initiatives.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field.

• Advanced degree in a related field.
